We've had lots of visits the past month which I'm going to attribute my lack of blogging. Six of the visits were to the doctors office for Ollie's jaundice, bronchialitis, and present ear infection. Poor baby he's only 5 weeks today! But we also had 2 wonderful visits.
First, my mom came out three weeks ago to help. She's so wonderful! Everytime a new grandchild is born she comes out to help. I may be a little selfish, but I love the alone time we get. It reminds me of high school after all my sisters had moved out and I got spoiled with attention - I know, spoken like a true youngest child!!
We didn't get out and do a lot while she was here because my mom, Ladd, and me were all sick at some point during her visit and the weather was crummy. But I loved every minute she was here. We still got in a little shopping and fun. When we took my mom to the airport she kissed Ladd goodbye and closed the door to say her goodbyes to me. When I got back in the car I had a few tears in my eyes and I looked back at Ladd and he had tears streaming down his cheeks and was reaching toward the window and crying "Shama, Shama" (Ladd's term for grandma). It was pretty heart breaking.
This isn't the greatest picture but I wanted my boys to have a picture with their Grandma Lene and Ladd wasn't being very cooperative.
The second visit was from Doug's mom and 17-year-old sister, Tara came out. I'd like to mention that Tara is pretty awesome for spending her spring break in Minnesota- not many people travel to colder places for their spring break and what was even more awesome was that she played with Ladd every waking moment. I think every child should have an aunt Tara- Ladd just adores her. I wish I had a picture of her from the trip.

We were able to get out a little more this visit and ate tons of good food and did a little shopping at the MOA (Mall of America). In addition to all this fun Grandma Karen spent hours trying to help us pick a new color to paint in our great room. Our living room presently looks like a green monster threw up all over it because we have tried so many blocks of green paint all over the walls. She was so patient and helpful and I think we are very close to picking the right color. Yay!! It was also super helpful to have help giving Ollie his breathing treatments 6x daily for his bronchialitis. Tara and Karen returned home early (5am early) one morning so Ladd wasn't awake to say goodbye. Later that morning he woke up and the first thing he asked for was Shama. He went running to her bedroom and when she wasn't there he looked for her in the bathroom. When I explained to him the Shama and Tara had gone bye bye, he dramatically threw himself on the floor and started sobbing. He loves his Shamas!
I sure think my boys have lucked out in the grandma department and I know Doug and I feel very blessed to have such great moms. Ladd and Ollie sure miss their Shamas, and of course Tara too, and we all can't wait until your next visit!! Hopefully soon. Sorry about the lack of pictures- I guess we were having too much fun and it seems some of my pics disappeared.
