I proceeded to put Ollie back in his crib (with a bottle, figuring he'd doze off while he drank) and put Ladd back down for a nap. 10 minutes later Ollie walked out his door again without a sound. After the third time I decided I needed to see how he was doing this and put the video camera on the dresser when I left him.
This is totally worth watching:
After many more futile attempts of putting him back I went into Ladd's room (because he had let himself out again) and set up the pack and play. I set up the camera just in case and waited and this is what I caught:
I desperately needed them to nap because we have reservations for dinner tonight so we went on a drive and within minutes both were sleeping. I love car seats. Added bonus I now had time to blog this and figure out a way to keep Ollie in his crib tonight.

Oh my goodness! I'm sure it didn't seem funny at the time, but I have to say, that's hilarious! Your boys are so cute! :)
Wow. Rarely do I "lough out loud" but oh, my goodness---SO funny! How can Ollie be that flexible? Loved watching it all!
How funny...to us that is. I'm sure I wouldn't find it as funny if it were my boys, but c'mon he's so stinking cute! :) I love how he's totally quiet and has his eye on the door the whole time. So sneaky! Hope you figured out something to keep him in. Time for a crib tent?! :)
Oh my gosh Darci! That has to be the funniest blog post of all time! What a little stinker!! I love that he's totally watching the door for you! and that face forward flip had my rolling! How are you going to get him to stay in there? You better post if you figure something out because I'm dying to know what would work in that situation!
That is awesome. It's like Doug sneaking out at night with the cheerleaders. Karen setup the same camera. :)
It is definitely a sad day, but a totally hilarious video!! I can't believe he can do that with his leg--it looks pretty effortless, like he's been practicing for a while!
Oh, I am dying laughing. How did you even think to set up the video camera:)
Is it time to lower the crib so he CAN get out safely but keep the door locked or something?
OK my stomach hurts from laughing so hard at that first video. I can't believe he isn't even fazed by that flib back into his crib! What a little climber...I can't believe he can get his leg up that high! Hopefully you can figure out something to keep him there...I am not looking forward to that day with Miley!
What a riot! Those bed rails are as high as his shoulders. I've been trying all day to lift my leg that high and it's a "for sure" that he didn't inherit that from this side of the family! (He did do a little better when he got his binky adjusted just right.) He's giving the theory of evolution a little credibility. The next 18 years or so are going to be fun to watch. Keep that camera ready.
Sooo funny! Mom always said you were a good climber as a child? Get that boy in gymnastics!!
That is hilarious! I about cracked up when he flipped over back in his crib. I like how he just stairs at the door to see if you'll come in or not. I am amazed though, pretty impressive "Ollie". Though frustrating for you, I think its way cute. But, then again my kids never attempted that. (Brock once, but then he never did it again)
OK...I could not stop laughing. Him flipping back over the side is HILARIOUS! So fun that you caught that on camera! :-)
HAAHAHAHAHAAAAHAHAHA!!! That is SOOO funny! So glad you put a camera in there, huh?! That is classic... something to laugh about for years :)
Oh my goodness, that is so dang funny!! I am pretty sure I am sad about the fact that I have not seen you guys in forever!
Ugh! Jack started doing that around the same age as Ollie. Time to flip around that doorknob (lock on the outside) and lock that little guy in! I'm a terribly mean mom, it's the only way to keep them in! The video was seriously hysterical!
This is so funny..love it! I am so jealous Shannon is coming to visit. I wish we were a little closer. I have been trying to think of ways to come crash your party, maybe next time!
